A study of kids in grades 4-8 conducted by the Center for Cyber Safety and Education revealed that 40% of kids chatted online with a stranger, 62% went to adult websites after a search, 49% have been online at 11pm on a school night and a number of other interesting (scary?) observations. You can view the study at: https://iamcybersafe.org/PARENT-RESEARCH/
The study underscores the importance of teaching your kids about online safety and privacy. The Center for Cyber Safety and Education is a good place for parents to start learning security basics and understand how to engage your children on matters of online safety and privacy.
